Come Ride with us on this motorbiking adventure ,riding the Route des Grandes Alpes which has 600 kilometres of some of the worlds best bike roads,experience the highest and most spectacular passes in Europe ie,Galibier, Bourg Maurice,Val D'isere, as we head south over some of the Tour De France routes,[they must be mad to do it on pedal bikes, it hard enough on motorbikes].
Our destination is the stunning region of the Verdon's Grand Canyon, a beautiful region with gorges, turquoise lakes, forests and roads to challenge you and your bike.
We will stay here for a few days giving you time to unpack the bike,explore, relax,chill or visit the South of France, Monaco, Millau, Nice or the beach your choice.
This will be home for a few days, gives you time to unpack the bike, settle in, relax, and explore the scenic roads and gorges at your leisure.
We unfortunately have to head north but this you will enjoy as we will ride the world famous Napoleon Road which twists and turns for over 200 miles of bends and scenery towards Geneva, there are hardly any straight bits a real biking road, I am sure you will want return to time and time again.
The aim of this tour is for you to relax enjoy the ride and see France from the best seat in the house.
This tour is escorted as against guided, ride with us or on your own the choice is yours, meet us at the hotel and tell us of your days adventure over a drink or two.
This tour includes ferries Portsmouth, Le Havre, 9 nights hotels,dinner, bed and breakfast.
We stay in nice hotels giving you time to relax and enjoy the ride and views safe in the knowledge that your experienced guide will take you on the best biking roads, riding through the most spectacular scenery while visiting interesting places.
We will make frequent stops for photo's, cuppas and toilets.
We will meet you at the ferry terminal in Portsmouth for your ferry trip to France, once on board you can have a meal or introduce yourselves to your fellow bikers. We will disembark and assemble ready for the adventure to begin.
Heading out we will ride a nice biking route on A/B road down to the Loire Valley, passing vineyards and beautiful avenues of trees which line the roadside, to your hotel for the night and a relaxing drink.
Bonjour ,breakfast and away we go on a stunning route south east towards the Alps proper, Our goal tonight is the historic and interesting walled town of Annecy with it's turquoise lakes and ancient buildings and canals, explore the old town or just view the motorbikes in this popular haunt in the town centre.
Sunday:-
Refreshed and breakfasted so lets go. starting the Grande Des Alpes Route.
Today we will ride alongside the turqoise lake and the up into the Alps proper through forests and valleys all on smooth twisty roads wearing the sides of your tyres out for a change.
Todays exciting ride will take us over some the highest passes in the Alps passing through Bourg San Maurice before climbing past Val d Isere into the Park De La Venoise National Park.
This route as you will see is used on the Tour De France and is hard enough riding a motorbike never mind a push bike, I have even been passed by a pedal bike on the descent fom one of these spectacular passes. [I was just taking my time, that's my excuse anyway].
We will also travel up and over the Les Grange, Col De Galibier , Col De Vars, Col De Bonnete, all of which are above the tree line giving the scenery the appearance of the desert, this is a great place for biking but don't relax to much as the roads have some massive drops straight out the James Bond Movies.
Arriving at your hotel for the night settle in and chill over a few drinks.
Monday:-
On the bikes and we will complete the Route de Grande Alpes and arrive in Castellane and the Verdon river gorge region, our home for 3 nights, unpack bike relax and settle in.
Tuesday:-
Good morning and breakfast is served, today is a do as you please day.
I will be leading a rideout today taking the circular biking road around the Verdon Grand Canyon which is a stunning ride with views to match, stopping for lunch overlooking the turquoise lake and Chateaux,
Back on bikes we will ride another fantastic route along the other side of the canyon and have a bit play.
Wednesday:-
Refreshed and over breakfast you can decide whether to come on the rideout or do your own thing , the choice is yours. Why not have a run down to Monaco for the day. or go see the Millau Bridge.
You are welcome to join me on todays rideout to the gorges swooping through tunnels on some of the twistiest roads I have ever come across but the views are stupendous and well worth the ride.
Take plenty of photos and I am sure you will want to come back.
Thursday:-
Breakfast
Then on the bike for one of the highlights of the trip riding the Route De Napoleon which sweeps its way north for about 200 miles and what a biking road, we will be stopping off for snacks, lunch enroute at biker friendly establishment, then back on bikes for more fun.
Arriving at your hotel in Annecey which will be home for two nights, unpack and relax.
Friday:-
Good morning, have your breakfast and do as you please today.
For the masocists I will take a ride out into the mountains and you are quite welcome to join me.
This is a fantastic area to stay and is very biker friendly as you will see by the amount of bikes that park up here.
Saturday:-
Bonjour breakfast and pack up and away,
Riding a scenic route North West to the Loire region and our Hotel for the night
Sunday:-
Riding across rural France we can enjoy our last days ride taking in the sites and sounds from the best seat in the house.
We will stop for a leisurely lunch then mount up for the last leg to the ferry back to Portsmouth again giving you a chance to relax and say goodbye to your new found friends.
Monday:-
Unfortunately the adventure is over and we bid you goodbye and a safe journey home.
